Gatito: A Solo Creator Built 1,300 AI Cats Since January 1st

On March 5th at 11am EST, a new NFT collection called Gatito will mint on Abstract Chain via OpenSea. Behind it, a creator we've been closely watching: @Theo_jpeg, who is launching this collection to mark the beginning of his journey into artificial intelligence.

A project born from an AI obsession

It all started on January 1st. Theo began building, alone, with one single tool: AI. Fascinated by what the technology makes possible today, he decided to launch Gatito as the first concrete act of his new creative direction. The collection is 100% generated by artificial intelligence, and that's precisely what makes it interesting, not because it's a gimmick, but because it's genuine.

The collection in detail

After 100K+ views and hundreds of DMs in just a few days, Theo went back to work for 48 hours straight to deliver something even stronger. Same price, same mint conditions but Gatito is now a full 1/1 collection of 1,300 cats (instead of 1,020), each one unique, with carefully crafted references and a quality level built for PFPs. Every single piece stands on its own.

Honest utility, no bullshit

What sets Gatito apart from hundreds of other drops is the way Theo talks about it. No roadmap. No empty promises. No official X account for the project. Just a creator who clearly states what he's offering: if you hold 3 NFTs, you're entitled to your own custom dancing cat PFP, animated, just like the ones he already created for other creators.

For the future, Theo has shared a list of ideas: a 3D collection with clothes and accessories, an AI SaaS tool, an AI course, an AI influencer IP, a buyback and burn mechanism, but he's the first to say that nothing is guaranteed. He'd rather under-promise and surprise. That's rare, and it deserves respect.

A mint structured for everyone

Phase 1 kicks off with the team supply over 15 minutes, covering 120 NFTs. Phase 2 gives Creators and guaranteed whitelist holders a free mint window of one hour, capped at 1 per wallet, for around 150 to 200 spots. Phase 3 is exclusively reserved for the Abstract community: Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Obsidian tiers get FCFS access at $5 for one hour, with a limit of 3 per wallet. Phase 4 opens to the public at $5 for one hour (10 per wallet), before the price progressively drops to $3 for 30 minutes, then $1 for 2 hours, and finally lands on a free mint until sold out.

On top of that, Theo is giving away 5 to 10 free guaranteed spots every single day on his profile and through other creators until mint day.
